    Excitement revving up for first Wally Parks °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥×î¿ì¿ª½± Nostalgia Nationals—This weekend!

    The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥×î¿ì¿ª½± and its Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series racers head to the Wally Parks °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥×î¿ì¿ª½± Nostalgia Nationals at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Ky., the first of two such events to be held this season to benefit the Wally Parks °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥×î¿ì¿ª½± Motorsports Museum. Dale Coleman, chairman of the board of the museum, shared his thoughts about what the events mean to both the museum and the racers, as well as his own rich history in the sport.

    Cottrell scores emotional win in Legends Nitro Funny Car presented by Modern Warrior

    The list of achievements that Bobby Cottrell has yet to cross off his list has become increasingly short for the reigning and multiple-time °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥×î¿ì¿ª½± Hot Rod Heritage Series champion, and he was able to seize another opportunity by hoisting an °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥×î¿ì¿ª½± Wally in Bristol during his first such attempt.

    About the Series

    To help preserve °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥×î¿ì¿ª½±â€™s rich history and tradition while capitalizing on the success of nostalgia drag racing competition, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥×î¿ì¿ª½± formed the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥×î¿ì¿ª½± Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series in 2009 that today crowns year-end points champions in 13 categories.

    The series benefits everyone, from the racers and fans to The Wally Parks °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥×î¿ì¿ª½± Motorsports Museum, and provides a great opportunity to preserve °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥×î¿ì¿ª½±â€™s rich heritage through nostalgia drag racing competition. The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥×î¿ì¿ª½± Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series year-end points champions in each of the 13 classes will receive a gold Wally trophy; Champion’s jacket and hat; and a cash award.

    The series’ 13 featured classes include: Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster; Nostalgia Funny Car; Group 1 (A/Fuel, Jr. Fuel and 7.0 Pro) and Group 2 (Nostalgia Eliminator I, II and III; A, B, C and D/Gas and Hot Rod).  The 7.0 Pro class is an index class with breakout rules – intended for front engine dragsters, center-steer Altereds and pre-1980 Nostalgia Funny Cars.
